The alpha groups had started their long journey back to Borneo Paradise for the first changeover early last Saturday - and to those who had been sleeping in the jungle for the last 3 week paradise it certainly was! As Alpha’s 1, 2 and 3 rolled up to the entrance in the early afternoon, some of the trekkers of Alpha’s 5 and 6 were still making their way down Mt Kinabalu, and Alpha 4 were just reaching the half way marker of their mammoth journey across Sabah.
All the groups were excited to be seeing some of their friends, as well as the bright lights of Kota Kinabalu for the first time in 3 weeks. Alpha 4 arrived mid afternoon and the adventure groups arrived just before dinner. The excitement mounted as the teams settled themselves and put together Raleigh style costumes for the Halloween themed fun and games fieldbase, under the expert party planning hand of Hen, had arranged for them the following day.
After a good nights sleep, and an excellent breakfast everyone got on their Halloween costumes and made their way to the meeting room to find out their new Alpha groups and for the fun and games to begin! The new teams congregated outside the meeting room, for a showdown that would determine the champion alpha group for phase 2! The games started with donut eating, then was followed by apple bobbing, chocolate eating, insect hunting and the Raleigh bush tucker trials!! I will let the pictures speak for themselves!
